No, flies on me…

Today was an awesome day, but I have to put out there that whomever said there are no bugs in the alps lied, like a liar. There are so many flies all over everything, and no one cares! Except me, obviously.

Well, we woke up early and set out for a steep hike. We weren’t rewarded with great views until the afternoon, but they really were awesome!

How it started…
How it progressed! Those are mountain peaks in the distance… above the remaining clouds

We ate three pieces of really delicious cake at this crazy, little hut while we waited for the clouds to lift. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but you just cannot believe these places exist where they exist, and can produce such amazing food, coffee, beers… it’s wild.

The hut and the cow shelter… in the middle of friggin nowhere!
Damn, that was some good cake
Clouds are lifting!
People stay overnight in here AND they have a crazy old timey kitchen where they make cake

On our way to the place where we are staying we were psyched to see a sea of cows, and to get up close to them… look at their bells!

The necklace part of the bell looks like a dirty WWF championship belt… they’re all 🥇

People are so nice and will always offer to take your picture. I know, I don’t look as cute as Chris while hiking, but here’s one of us, taken by some nice guys from San Francisco…

This hotel is weird and awesome, like a nice highway rest stop / gift shop / petting zoo / campsite. Check it out…

The view of the backyard from our window
What was left of the dinner they served us by the time I stopped eating to take a pic
Someone is really into taxidermy
Sunset view of the mountains

Tomorrow is the toughest hiking day with two steep ascents that will take all day to complete. Then we’re staying in the most rustic of huts where you cannot drink or shower in the water. Pray for me… 🙏🏽

Wow! You guys are so high up, you’re above the clouds! Wildflowers and cake, heavenly. Apart from the flies. EW!
I see an interesting plant called Fireweed in some of your photos (maybe they call it something else there.)It symbolizes resilience and perseverance. Just like you two.
