Through the fire, to the limit, to the wall

You guys, this was the most tiring day… we started before 8am and ended around 5pm. We hiked the steepest and scariest peaks… I really didn’t want to traverse three sets of vertical ladders, thousands of feet in the sky… but I did. We did!

Here are pics from the first leg…

Break of dawn hike, looking at where we will go…
Look at the mountains! Look at them.
This little place looks like it’s in the middle of nowhere… but look at the back, and you can see ski slopes and a few roads leading up to and around it. Great salty cakes!

We ate a delicious lunch after the first leg to power us up, and we saw a huge ibex and rock climbers while we were ascending to Refuge Lac Blanc during the second leg.

Did we put that bread in our backpack for later? Yes, yes we did…
We saw a huge, full grown ibex and it was crazy. Looks far away, but was close enough to see the whites of his eyes.

I can’t lie, I was emotional during this second leg. There were some difficult and scary spots and all I could think was; I need to make it back to Beverly safely and see my lil’ Stella again… Dramatic, but these vistas are powerful and the physical drain is real, and I really did think that! 😆 I miss my favorite girl!

It’s a lac, but it’s not Lac Blanc!

Now we’re chillin at 7,700 feet, having our dinner and looking forward to bed soon… the sun is setting…

We’ve, we’ve, we’ve earned it!
I got the top bunk!
Sundown mountains

Tomorrow we hike to a cable car that takes us to our last stop, Chamonix. See you on the flip flop! ❤️

This is what I could capture before my watch died. Pretty much sums it up for today!
